George Taylor, born around 1782, died 1834 age 52, "a man universally respected for his probity and benevolence", he was buried St. Mary Redcliffe on 26 Sept. His wife Sarah died 4 Dec 1839 after a short but painful illness. His second son Charles died 21 Dec. 1835, aged 21. George had established his Wine and Brandy Merchant business in Redcliff Street in 1807 according to the claims of his family.

George purchased the Bunch of Grapes pub before his death.
His son George(2) duly took on the business, he married Jane Coles of Evercreech, Somerset, at the parish church of Evercreech with Chesterblade, on Weds. 3 Oct. 1838. Their first son George Taylor(3) was born 1840, bapt. at St. Thomas on 4 Nov., the second was Robert Coulson Taylor, born 1842, bapt. at St. Thomas on 21 Sept. 1842. There may have been other children, but it seems Jane died in 1851 giving birth to a daughter, Jane who also perished at the time.

GEORGE TAYLOR, in resuming the Business of WINE and SPIRIT MERCHANT (so
many years carried on by his late Father, and afterwards by himself),
respectfully solicits the kind patronage of his Friends and the Public in
general, assuring them that none but the very best Articles will be kept
by him, and the lowest possible prices charged, by which means he trusts
to merit a continuance of the favours so liberally bestowed upon the late
Firm.
Wines and Spirits can be tasted in the Bonded Cellars any day between the
hours of Eleven and Three o'clock.

George and his father both died in the same place within the space of a year, the younger going first:
The Will with a codicil of George Taylor(2), formerly of the City of Bristol but late of 8 Buckingham-vale, Clifton in the County of Gloucester, who died 7 December 1880 at 8 Buckingham-vale was proved at the Principal Registry by Robert Colson Taylor of 28 Nicholas-street in the said City, Wine Merchant, the Son the surviving Executor. Proved 30 Nov. 1881.
The Will of George Taylor(3), late of 8 Buckingham-vale, in the Parish of Clifton in the County of Gloucester, Wine Merchant, who died 1 Sept. 1881 at 8 Buckingham-vale, was proved at the Principal Registry by Robert Colson Taylor of 28 Nicholas-street in the City of Bristol, Wine Merchant, the Brother, the sole Executor.
After the death of both brother George and his father George, Robert decided to dispose of the business: "OLD-ESTABLISHED FAMILY WINE and SPIRIT BUSINESS in Bristol to be DISPOSED OF immediately, owing to the death of one of the partners. Stock and book debts light.—Apply R. C. TAYLOR, 28 Nicholas-street, Bristol. (Bristol Mercury - Tuesday 24 January 1882 p.4.) It was eventually sold to J. White & Son, Wine & Spirit Merchants.
